How does it work?

The PicoWay system delivers high peak power with the shorter pulse duration for a non-thermal, photoacoustic effect that transforms the skin from inside and out. With this innovative pico-second laser technology we can:

  • Significantly improve acne scars and wrinkles, with a series of quick 15-20 minute treatments, with low to no downtime.

  • Address and treat a range of benign (harmless/non-cancerous) pigmented lesions with flexibility in depth and spot size.

  • Treat a wide range of tattoos. Even with difficult to treat blue and green tattoos.

Why you'll love this treatment.

Here are reasons why you will love the Picoway system.

Clinical Evidence.

There have been studies conducted to show that Picoway can deliver reduced acne scarring after just three treatments, high rates of improvement in wrinkle severity, a high rate of benign pigmented lesion clearance and removal of multi-coloured tattoos.

Comfort.

The Picoway system uses a gentle approach to building new collagen and elastin in the treatment of acne scars and wrinkles.

Low to no downtime.

n brief, 15- to 20-minute treatment sessions, the fractional PicoWay Resolve system transforms skin while leaving the epidermis intact. So patients can get back to their lives quickly, without significant side effects.

Photoacoustic effect.

Ultra-short pulses enable the strong photoacoustic impact needed to effectively fracture pigment particles without overheating surrounding skin tissues.

Frequently Asked Questions.

How many treatments will I need?

The effectiveness of the treatment depends on many factors such as the location, depth, size and type of pigmentation. Some lesions will require several treatments for optimal results, where some can be resolved in a single treatment.

What should I expect?

During your first visit, your skin’s reaction to the laser will be tested to determine the most effective treatment. Immediately following treatment, cold compresses may be applied to soothe the treated area. A topical antibiotic ointment may be recommended. In the first few days, take care to avoid scrubbing the area or using abrasive skin cleansers. Throughout the treatment you will feel some heat being generated in your skin, this may feel like an elastic band flicking your skin.

Does the treatment hurt?

The degree of discomfort varies with each person depending on the nature and location of the pigmented lesions on the body. Since PicoWay’s pulses are fast, you’ll feel minimal discomfort throughout the procedure.

Are the treatments safe?

PicoWay treatments selectively treat the melanin pigmentation while leaving surrounding skin undamaged. After treatments, patients will experience temporary discolouration or reddening of the skin around the treatment site. Some patients may also experience a temporary lightening or darkening of the skin for a few months following treatment. The skin will typically resolve to normal pigmentation colour.

Is there any downtime?

PicoWay is simple to fit into your life. After a treatment, you can get right back to your busy day. Since each treatment typically lasts for less than 20 minutes, you can easily schedule an appointment during your lunch break.
